Try Xeomin® as an Effective Botox® Alternative

beautiful mature smiling woman with clear, smooth skin.

Botox® is a brand name which has become well-known for its ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, facial lines and other signs of aging. Many people may not be aware of Botox® alternatives that may offer similar, if not better, age-defying results in treating moderate to severe wrinkles. In particular, FDA-approved Xeomin® has been making its mark in recent years as an effective go-to alternative to Botox®. While Xeomin’s® rising popularity was driven in large by demand from those who became immune to Botox®, the injectable’s effectiveness has made it a viable alternative in its own right.

Based on both its use for those who’ve become immune to Botox® and for its wrinkle-reducing efficacy, Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa includes Xeomin® among its arsenal of minimally invasive injectable wrinkle treatments.

What is Xeomin® and How Does it Differ from Botox®?

Like Botox®, Xeomin® is a muscle relaxant made from the botulism toxin that reduces the look of wrinkles and age lines by blocking the nerve signals to the underlying muscles. Unlike injectable fillers that work by filling in the spaces caused by wrinkles, these botulism-based injectables ease the muscle tension ultimately responsible for the line formations. While the two botulism-based injectable treatments are nearly indistinguishable from each other—the main difference is the absence of certain accessory proteins, which allows Xeomin® to skirt around any Botox®-related immunity build-up.

Other than the immunity related variance between these two injectables, the most noteworthy difference is that patients treated with Xeomin® tend to feel less tightness in the injection areas than those treated with Botox®. In a double-blind study comparing the two, doctors and patients could not tell the difference between those treated with Botox® and those treated with Xeomin®.

Tru Glō Medspa primarily utilizes Xeomin® and other botulism-based injectables to treat the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines.

The wrinkle-reducing effects of Xeomin® generally become most noticeable within a few weeks and should last for a few months. After this time, additional treatments will likely be needed to maintain the desired results.

Tru Glō Medspa Ecstatic Over Non-Surgical Facelift

silhouette-instalift-blog

Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa is pleased to now offer an innovative minimally invasive procedure that provides many of the same benefits of a facelift. This non-surgical procedure—the FDA-approved Silhouette InstaLift®—lifts the deeper layers of epidermal facial skin to re-contour the mid-face region while boosting the body’s natural collagen formation with the aim of stimulating a more youthful appearance. This innovative non-surgical alternative to the facelift is perfectly suited for women or men interested in rejuvenating their facial area without major surgery, injections or lasers.

What is the Secret behind Silhouette InstaLift®?

Drooping and sagging skin are among the leading contributors to aged and tired-looking appearances, which means that any measures that can elevate skin layers into their previous positions help renew youthful contours and reduce the signs of aging years.

Silhouette InstaLift® achieves this elevation by the insertion of internal sutures attached to bi-directional cones that both lift and reposition the deep skin layers of the mid-face or cheek area. These sutures and cones are made of biomedical materials—glycolide/L-lactide (PLGA)—that are well tolerated by the body’s system and used in many medical devices. They are naturally absorbed into the skin over time and help further stimulate healthy skin renewal and collagen growth. This results in a natural looking lifting and renewal of the skin, with initial contouring and increased volume results noticeable almost immediately.

Approved by the U.S. FDA in 2015, Silhouette InstaLift® has proven to be well tolerated by patients and receiving buzz as a facelift alternative with media exposure by “ELLE,” “Marie Claire,” “New Beauty,” “Allure,” and “The Doctors TV.”

Your Silhouette InstaLift® Procedure

Prior to initiation of any Silhouette Instalift® procedure, Tru Glo’s in-house Nurse Practitioner Stacey Blake, APRN, will consult with you to assess patient goals, gauge skin condition, and plan suture placement. Suitable candidates for Silhouette Instalift® must have good skin quality that is neither too thick nor too thin, but also showing signs of noticeable sagging.

During the actual in-office procedure, your Silhouette Instalift® specialist will mark out the areas on the face needing lifting and provide a local anesthetic to numb the area before inserting the sutures. The specialist will then gently insert a needle to a depth of approximately 5 mm, guide it through the subcutaneous tissue of the mid-face region, and extract it at each bi-directional exit point. Once the desired lifting and contouring has been achieved, typically within about 45 minutes, the procedure is done.

Some patients might experience a minimal inflammatory tissue reaction after the procedure. Other potential symptoms include minor pain, swelling and bruising. Any side effects beyond the above listed ones should be reported to Tru Glō Medspa as soon as possible.

Presenting Permanent Makeup Services at Tru Glō Medspa!

Permanent makeup services new to Tru Glo Medspa

Tru Glō Medspa is expanding its line of facial treatment options with permanent makeup cosmetic services! We are pleased to introduce Mercedeh Reynolds as our new permanent makeup artist. An award-winning licensed, aesthetician and certified permanent makeup artist, Mercedeh will tailor her microblading and feathering artistry on eyebrows, eyeliners and lips in our Naples, Florida medical spa.

Also known as “micropigmentation” and “cosmetic tattooing,” permanent makeup is a form of light tattooing in which pigment is implanted into the upper skin layers to achieve desired enhancements of specific features such as eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. The procedure can also be utilized to hide scars and mask other facial imperfections. Permanent makeup helps limit the time needed for regular makeup application, and is a proven boon for those who don’t have time to refresh their makeup throughout the day.

Permanent Makeup is Smear Proof

Because it is smear-proof, permanent makeup is an especially attractive cosmetic option for athletes and others with active lifestyles. It is also beneficial for those who experience various hindrances related to the application of makeup, such as those with allergies and skin sensitivities, vision impairment, and assorted medical conditions that impact dexterity, including arthritis, stroke and Parkinson’s disease, to name a few.

Mercedeh Focuses Artistry on Eyebrows, Eyeliner and Lips

Mercedeh is skilled with all permanent makeup techniques, whether using traditional coil, rotary, or pen machine, or by providing detailed artistry by hand. Mercedeh uses these techniques to redefine eyebrows, highlight the eyes with appropriate eyeliner, and enhance and restore lip color and shape.

An award-winning, microblading feathering technique is generally used to enhance the eyebrows. Perfect for reconstructing or covering gaps in existing eyebrows, and for adding definition and slight arching, Mercedeh utilizes the feathering technique to create individual angled hair strokes that mimic the natural pattern of eyebrow hair growth.

Mercedeh uses a delicate hand-held drawing tool to create the perfect eyeliner sought by her clients. The eyeliner can be applied to both the top and bottom lids with either a thin, barely noticeable light touch, or a thick, bold line to create alluring cat eyes.

Permanent lip makeup is a perfect solution for restoring age-related loss of lip color, volume, shape and definition. Not only can permanent lip makeup be used to add color to dulled lips, but it can also create a fuller look, adjust symmetry, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the lips. Clients can opt for a neutral shade for a natural look that will work well with most lip liners and lipstick colors, or pick a shade that matches their favorite lipstick. Those opting for the more vivid shades need just apply some subtle lip gloss to enhance and bring out the full color.

Application Time and Healing Duration Are Short

Most permanent makeup sessions take about two hours to complete. While there is usually some sensitivity, tenderness and swelling to the area treated, pain is rare. Healing times vary, but most clients are fully healed and ready to show off their new look within a week. Permanent makeup procedures with Mercedeh at Tru Glō Medspa include a free consultation, application of the permanent makeup and a follow-up visit for evaluation and any possible touch ups. While the new permanent makeup pigment will always be in your skin, some fading does occur over time. Thus many clients opt for a permanent makeup refreshing session every couple of years.

Tru Glō Medspa is excited to offer this new service, and pleased to welcome Mercedeh Reynolds as its renowned permanent makeup artist. If you would like to learn more about permanent makeup at Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa, Mercedeh will be glad to meet with you in an initial consultation to discuss how her artistry can compliment your face. Contact us today for your free consultation, through either our website’s contact page or by calling 239-919-7009.

Choosing the Ideal Injectable Dermal Treatment at Tru Glō Medspa

Beautiful older woman, cosmetic injectables and fillers at Tru Glo Medspa

The passing years take their toll on our faces, as evidenced by the deepening of those distinctive nasolabial lines, the increase in wrinkles around our mouth and nose, and the overall sagging of our skin and hollowing of our cheeks. Fortunately, we can help reduce those signs of aging by trying to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and folds with minimally invasive injectable dermal fillers and treatments. Tru Glō Medspa offers a range of injectable dermal treatments designed to address the signs of aging by restoring lost skin volume and displacing the depth of lines and wrinkles.

Determine Which Dermal Filler Meets Your Needs

Much like no two faces are alike, the signs of aging differ for all of us. Thus, Tru Glō Medspa relies on an assortment of dermal fillers tailored to address different types of wrinkles and lines, as well as differing levels of volume loss and sagging. Among Tru Glō Medspa’s injectable filler options, as detailed below, are Botox®, Restylane®, Restylane Lyft®, and Juvéderm®. Whichever injectable dermal treatment you choose, we will strive to help you leave our Naples, Florida-based premier medical spa with fuller, smoother, more radiant and younger looking skin.

Botox®

As one of the first FDA-approved injectable dermal treatment, Botox is not a filler, but a muscle relaxant that works by shutting down the signals of neurotransmitters that cause the muscles to tense, which in turn causes the formation of wrinkles on the forehead and crow’s feet. Administered by our fully qualified and licensed doctors, Botox injections have limited downtime and side effects, and can show significant reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet within minutes.

Restylane®

Tru Glō Medspa recommends Restylane® for the reduction of moderate depth wrinkles and lines around the mouth and nose. Not only is Restylane® a filler, but it also works to replace the skin’s age-related loss of hyaluronic acid, a natural chemical that helps maintain the skin’s volume and elasticity. Along with use of nasolabial folds and lines, Restylane® is used to plump up lips and eliminate their fine lines.

Restylane Lyft®

Similar to Restylane®, Restylane® Lyft also contains hyaluronic acid to help the skin recover volume and elasticity. The particles in the Restylane® Lyft injectable gel are larger than those used in Restylane®, and the gel is injected deeper into the skin. Thus, Restylane® Lyft is used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and lines around the nose and mouth.

Juvéderm®

Tru Glō Medspa offers the full line of Juvéderm® dermal filler products to address different areas of the face. As with the Restylane® products, Juvéderm® fillers are hyaluronic acid based, which is believed to prolong the effectiveness of each treatment.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC is designed to correct age-related volume loss in the cheek area, with the added volume expected to create lift and better contour. Juvéderm® XC is used to target moderate to severe parenthesis lines and wrinkles for an overall smoother face. Juvéderm® XC can also add volume to aged hands. Juvéderm® Ultra and Juvéderm® Ultra XC are designed to reduce and eliminate deep wrinkles. Ultra XC is also used for plumping lips and reducing lip wrinkling.
If you would like to address the loss of volume in your facial skin, and reduce the depth and number of wrinkles and nasolabial lines, the specialists at Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa can evaluate your skin to determine which injectable dermal treatment is the right option for you. Tru Glō Medspa looks forward to introducing you to these effective non-surgical face rejuvenation options.
