Try Xeomin® as an Effective Botox® Alternative

beautiful mature smiling woman with clear, smooth skin.

Botox® is a brand name which has become well-known for its ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, facial lines and other signs of aging. Many people may not be aware of Botox® alternatives that may offer similar, if not better, age-defying results in treating moderate to severe wrinkles. In particular, FDA-approved Xeomin® has been making its mark in recent years as an effective go-to alternative to Botox®. While Xeomin’s® rising popularity was driven in large by demand from those who became immune to Botox®, the injectable’s effectiveness has made it a viable alternative in its own right.

Based on both its use for those who’ve become immune to Botox® and for its wrinkle-reducing efficacy, Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa includes Xeomin® among its arsenal of minimally invasive injectable wrinkle treatments.

What is Xeomin® and How Does it Differ from Botox®?

Like Botox®, Xeomin® is a muscle relaxant made from the botulism toxin that reduces the look of wrinkles and age lines by blocking the nerve signals to the underlying muscles. Unlike injectable fillers that work by filling in the spaces caused by wrinkles, these botulism-based injectables ease the muscle tension ultimately responsible for the line formations. While the two botulism-based injectable treatments are nearly indistinguishable from each other—the main difference is the absence of certain accessory proteins, which allows Xeomin® to skirt around any Botox®-related immunity build-up.

Other than the immunity related variance between these two injectables, the most noteworthy difference is that patients treated with Xeomin® tend to feel less tightness in the injection areas than those treated with Botox®. In a double-blind study comparing the two, doctors and patients could not tell the difference between those treated with Botox® and those treated with Xeomin®.

Ask Your Premier Naples, Fl MedSpa About Xeomin®

Tru Glō Medspa primarily utilizes Xeomin® and other botulism-based injectables to treat the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines.

The wrinkle-reducing effects of Xeomin® generally become most noticeable within a few weeks and should last for a few months. After this time, additional treatments will likely be needed to maintain the desired results.

If you would like to learn more about how Xeomin® can reduce the appearance of your frown lines, contact Tru Glō Medspa today through our website’s contact page, or by calling 239-919-7009.

A Minimally Invasive Approach To Reducing Double Chin

Naples Florida, mature woman outdoors, minimally invasive approach to reducing double chin with Kybella

Losing fat through diet and exercise takes dedication and hard work, but even the most stalwart follower of fat-reducing regimens has an especially difficult time reducing fat deposits under the chin. In fact, the fatty tissue that builds up in a double chin is typically the most resistant to diet and exercise and the last to show any signs of reduction. With that in mind, Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa is pleased to offer a groundbreaking, non-invasive injectable treatment that works with the body’s natural processes to break down and destroy fat deposits in the chin area.

Why is Fat in the Double Chin so Difficult to Lose?

Technically referred to as “submental fullness,” the double chin is primarily caused by weight gain, aging, and genetic disposition, with all three typically playing a role in most cases. The genetic component is among the most significant factor because it dictates the body’s propensity for how much fat will be stored in the submental (chin) area. Weight gain plays a role because if you put on the pounds a portion of it will end up in the chin according to your genetics. Last, aging plays a role because the muscles in the area weaken with age as the skin gets looser, both of which allow any fat deposits to more easily droop and bulge.

This aging factor adds to the difficulty of reducing double chin by diet and exercise because there is no way to spot reduce fat. Any diet-and exercise-related fat loss in the chin will be proportional to fat loss everywhere else; however, that distinct loss may not be as apparent due to any age-related skin looseness and muscle weakness. Thus, while the two-inch loss of fat around your waist might be apparent, the commensurate amount lost around the chin area might not even be noticed.

Your Premier Naples, FL Medical Spa Offers Kybella®

With the limited results offered by diet and exercise, some people turn to more invasive methods, such as micro liposuction or surgical neck lift, to correct their double chins. However, there is an injectable treatment for double chin that has been clinically proven to reduce submental fat deposits. Approved as a one-of-a-kind treatment by the FDA in 2015, Tru Glō Medspa is now offering its Naples, Florida-area medical spa clients Kybella®, a synthetic formulation of a naturally occurring compound in our bodies that breaks down fat, which is then naturally disposed of by the body’s metabolic process.

Kybella’s® active ingredient is the synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring bile used by our bodies to help with fat absorption during the digestive process. The synthetic form works in a similar manner by breaking down the fat cells it is exposed to after being injected into the treatment area. While results are not immediate, most patients notice a difference within four to six weeks after the first injections. And, because the fat cells are destroyed, results are permanent and no further treatment should be needed after aesthetic goals have been met.

Your Kybella® treatment at Tru Glō Medspa represents a quick procedure that may cause some swelling, tenderness and slight pain, but most patients are able to resume  normal daily activities immediately after. If you would like to learn more about how Kybella® can reduce the fat in your chin for a more sculpted facial physique, contact us today through our website contact page, or by calling 239-919-7009.

Freeze Excess Fat Away With CoolSculpting®

woman running on beach, coolsculpting noninvasive weight loss

With winter soon to wane and warm months shortly to be on the horizon, many people are already making an effort through diets and exercise to slim down in advance of the summer season. But, as we all know, fat is stubborn and diets and exercise do not always bring about the desired weight loss results. For some unlucky people, whether due to metabolism or some other factor, such measures can even seem to be an exercise in futility.

Some people who struggle with stubborn fat and excess weight turn to invasive alternatives to diet and exercise. There are surgeries and implantable gastric bands that can shrink the size of the stomach and/or restrict the absorption of calories, as well as implantable devices that send electronic impulses that trick the brain into believing the stomach is full. And there is liposuction, the most popular invasive weight loss procedure, which breaks up and sucks the fat from the body. While all of these invasive procedures can be effective at reducing fat and helping people lose weight, many people balk at the potential side effects and downtime.

Consider This Non-Invasive Fat Destroying Alternative

That’s why Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa offers its clients a revolutionary, non-invasive treatment that works by destroying the actual fat cells inside the body, rather than by removing them with liposuction or by reducing their size through surgery or implants. CoolSculpting® eliminates diet- and exercise-resistant fat by freezing localized fat deposits. Once chilled for a short period of time in a process known “cryolipolysis,” fat cells crystalize and die. These dead cells are then slowly removed by the body’s own natural metabolic process over the next few weeks and months. The surrounding skin and tissue, meanwhile, are unaffected because fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than other cells.

Attacking Excess Fat on the Cellular Level

The key to CoolSculpting’s® success is, like liposuction, the destruction of the actual fat cells. Everyone has a set number of fat cells, a number that generally gets established during adolescence. When people lose weight by traditional diet or exercise, or by calorie-reducing surgery treatments or implants, the reduced weight occurs at the cellular level with a corresponding reduction in fat cell size. The number of fat cells stays the same, but their size has decreased. Any increase in caloric intake can plump those fat cells right back up to where they were pre-diet, exercise or procedure.

Thus, CoolSculpting® is a fat loss treatment, rather than a weight loss treatment. Approved in Europe since 2000, and FDA approved in the U.S. in 2012, CoolSculpting® has an established track record with more than six million treatments performed worldwide. It can be used to treat visible fat bulges in the thigh, abdomen, flank, back and submental (chin) areas.

Tru Glō Medspa Offers Dual CoolSculpting® Treatment

If you have more than one area on your body that contains diet- and exercise-resistant fat, Tru Glō Medspa offers dual CoolSculpting® so that you can treat multiple stubborn fatty areas during one session. DualSculpting is the ability to utilize two CoolSculpting® machines at once.

An initial consultation with one of our specialists will tailor an individualized CoolSculpting® treatment plan designed to meet your goals by safely reducing problem fat pockets that are limiting your positive body image. Once in treatment the device—or two for those undergoing the DualSculpting—is strategically positioned and the controlled cooling slowly applied. During the treatment session you can read, surf the Internet, or even take a nap. Once the session is concluded, you can typically return to work or engage in normal everyday activities.

Because CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure, there is no downtime or extensive recovery period. There are limited side effects beyond light bruising and numbness around the vicinity of the treated area. Thus, CoolSculpting® is perfect for people who want to avoid the downtime or are otherwise looking for alternatives to liposuction and other more invasive procedures.
Tru Glō Medspa can help you remove unwanted fat deposits and help you sculpt a firmer, more toned body and face. If you would like to learn more about how CoolSculpting® can reshape a new you, contact us today through our contact page, or by calling 239-919-7009.

Tru Glō Medspa Offers Medical Grade hCG Weight Loss Program

woman eating a salad, diet and hCG weight loss treatment at Tru Glo Medspa, Naples Florida

While an effective weight loss pill that shreds the pounds without any significant side effects remains elusive, a few medications and supplements used with exercise and diet may boost weight loss results. Tru Glō Medspa relies on several such substances as part of its medically supervised weight loss program, which has expanded its program to include the use of hCG, a natural hormone produced in the body. Tru Glō Medspa’s Medical Grade hCG Program has proven successful, with some clients losing up to a pound per day, and the program resulting in an average monthly weight loss of 20 pounds among those who have enrolled. No Tru Glō Medspa patients have experienced any adverse side effects, and most patients have reported that they feel no loss of energy despite the program’s reduced caloric intake.

What is hCG and How Does it Work?

Spelled out as “human chorionic gonadotropin,” hCG is a hormone produced by the body that presents itself in high levels during pregnancy to help women mobilize fat reserves for use as energy for both the mother and fetus. First recognized as a potential weight loss tool by a British doctor named Albert Simeons in the mid-1950s, hCG helps reduce appetite, maintains normal energy levels, and wards off the unpleasant impacts of a low calorie diet such as headaches and mood swings. Simeons, who devoted much of his career to the issues of obesity and weight loss, determined that hCG used in conjunction with a low calorie diet of 500 calories or less could dramatically help patients lose weight. While researchers have since determined that the low calorie diet itself is primarily responsible for the lost weight, the hCG is believed to work on a metabolic basis to ensure that fat rather than muscle is being reduced.

It’s All About the Metabolism

Anyone can lose weight by simply eating fewer calories and fat, but due to the body’s natural metabolic processing designed to maintain fat reserves for times of deprivation, most people lose muscle and bone density before fat. This also causes cellular metabolism to slow down, which further encourages weight gains while at the same time promoting further losses in muscle mass and bone density. By combining hCG with the low calorie diet, extra fat is mobilized for energy, and, as the fat is eliminated, the low calorie diet prevents the emptied fat cells from being refilled. Meanwhile, the muscles and bones are protected by hCG’s metabolic impact, making for a healthier calorie-restricted diet.

With hCG working naturally to encourage metabolic mobilization of fat as the body’s energy source, it effectively reduces one’s appetite. Despite the reduction in calories, the body is able to access needed energy from the fat cells. In fact, most patients notice a significant decrease in their appetite within three days, and most people have plenty of energy and feel good while on the program. While hCG is a pregnancy hormone, the small amounts given to patients do not stimulate any pregnancy related response beyond the metabolic activity with fat reserves. In fact, hCG can be safely used by both men and women.

Your Medical Grade hCG Program at Tru Glō Medspa

Your Medical Grade hCG Program at Tru Glō Medspa begins with a physical exam and consultation designed to assess which of our medically supervised weight loss programs is likely to be most effective. Tru Glō Medspa Ecstatic Over Non-Surgical Facelift

silhouette-instalift-blog

Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa is pleased to now offer an innovative minimally invasive procedure that provides many of the same benefits of a facelift. This non-surgical procedure—the FDA-approved Silhouette InstaLift®—lifts the deeper layers of epidermal facial skin to re-contour the mid-face region while boosting the body’s natural collagen formation with the aim of stimulating a more youthful appearance. This innovative non-surgical alternative to the facelift is perfectly suited for women or men interested in rejuvenating their facial area without major surgery, injections or lasers.

What is the Secret behind Silhouette InstaLift®?

Drooping and sagging skin are among the leading contributors to aged and tired-looking appearances, which means that any measures that can elevate skin layers into their previous positions help renew youthful contours and reduce the signs of aging years.

Silhouette InstaLift® achieves this elevation by the insertion of internal sutures attached to bi-directional cones that both lift and reposition the deep skin layers of the mid-face or cheek area. These sutures and cones are made of biomedical materials—glycolide/L-lactide (PLGA)—that are well tolerated by the body’s system and used in many medical devices. They are naturally absorbed into the skin over time and help further stimulate healthy skin renewal and collagen growth. This results in a natural looking lifting and renewal of the skin, with initial contouring and increased volume results noticeable almost immediately.

Approved by the U.S. FDA in 2015, Silhouette InstaLift® has proven to be well tolerated by patients and receiving buzz as a facelift alternative with media exposure by “ELLE,” “Marie Claire,” “New Beauty,” “Allure,” and “The Doctors TV.”

Your Silhouette InstaLift® Procedure

Prior to initiation of any Silhouette Instalift® procedure, Tru Glo’s in-house Nurse Practitioner Stacey Blake, APRN, will consult with you to assess patient goals, gauge skin condition, and plan suture placement. Suitable candidates for Silhouette Instalift® must have good skin quality that is neither too thick nor too thin, but also showing signs of noticeable sagging.

During the actual in-office procedure, your Silhouette Instalift® specialist will mark out the areas on the face needing lifting and provide a local anesthetic to numb the area before inserting the sutures. The specialist will then gently insert a needle to a depth of approximately 5 mm, guide it through the subcutaneous tissue of the mid-face region, and extract it at each bi-directional exit point. Once the desired lifting and contouring has been achieved, typically within about 45 minutes, the procedure is done.

Some patients might experience a minimal inflammatory tissue reaction after the procedure. Other potential symptoms include minor pain, swelling and bruising. Any side effects beyond the above listed ones should be reported to Tru Glō Medspa as soon as possible.

Presenting Permanent Makeup Services at Tru Glō Medspa!

Permanent makeup services new to Tru Glo Medspa

Tru Glō Medspa is expanding its line of facial treatment options with permanent makeup cosmetic services! We are pleased to introduce Mercedeh Reynolds as our new permanent makeup artist. An award-winning licensed, aesthetician and certified permanent makeup artist, Mercedeh will tailor her microblading and feathering artistry on eyebrows, eyeliners and lips in our Naples, Florida medical spa.

Also known as “micropigmentation” and “cosmetic tattooing,” permanent makeup is a form of light tattooing in which pigment is implanted into the upper skin layers to achieve desired enhancements of specific features such as eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. The procedure can also be utilized to hide scars and mask other facial imperfections. Permanent makeup helps limit the time needed for regular makeup application, and is a proven boon for those who don’t have time to refresh their makeup throughout the day.

Permanent Makeup is Smear Proof

Because it is smear-proof, permanent makeup is an especially attractive cosmetic option for athletes and others with active lifestyles. It is also beneficial for those who experience various hindrances related to the application of makeup, such as those with allergies and skin sensitivities, vision impairment, and assorted medical conditions that impact dexterity, including arthritis, stroke and Parkinson’s disease, to name a few.

Mercedeh Focuses Artistry on Eyebrows, Eyeliner and Lips

Mercedeh is skilled with all permanent makeup techniques, whether using traditional coil, rotary, or pen machine, or by providing detailed artistry by hand. Mercedeh uses these techniques to redefine eyebrows, highlight the eyes with appropriate eyeliner, and enhance and restore lip color and shape.

An award-winning, microblading feathering technique is generally used to enhance the eyebrows. Perfect for reconstructing or covering gaps in existing eyebrows, and for adding definition and slight arching, Mercedeh utilizes the feathering technique to create individual angled hair strokes that mimic the natural pattern of eyebrow hair growth.

Mercedeh uses a delicate hand-held drawing tool to create the perfect eyeliner sought by her clients. The eyeliner can be applied to both the top and bottom lids with either a thin, barely noticeable light touch, or a thick, bold line to create alluring cat eyes.

Permanent lip makeup is a perfect solution for restoring age-related loss of lip color, volume, shape and definition. Not only can permanent lip makeup be used to add color to dulled lips, but it can also create a fuller look, adjust symmetry, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the lips. Clients can opt for a neutral shade for a natural look that will work well with most lip liners and lipstick colors, or pick a shade that matches their favorite lipstick. Those opting for the more vivid shades need just apply some subtle lip gloss to enhance and bring out the full color.

Application Time and Healing Duration Are Short

Most permanent makeup sessions take about two hours to complete. While there is usually some sensitivity, tenderness and swelling to the area treated, pain is rare. Healing times vary, but most clients are fully healed and ready to show off their new look within a week. Permanent makeup procedures with Mercedeh at Tru Glō Medspa include a free consultation, application of the permanent makeup and a follow-up visit for evaluation and any possible touch ups. While the new permanent makeup pigment will always be in your skin, some fading does occur over time. Thus many clients opt for a permanent makeup refreshing session every couple of years.

Tru Glō Medspa is excited to offer this new service, and pleased to welcome Mercedeh Reynolds as its renowned permanent makeup artist. If you would like to learn more about permanent makeup at Naples, Florida-based Tru Glō Medspa, Mercedeh will be glad to meet with you in an initial consultation to discuss how her artistry can compliment your face. Contact us today for your free consultation, through either our website’s contact page or by calling 239-919-7009.
